Who we are

EVTOW UK ("we", "us") is a free service that helps electric-vehicle drivers who tow caravans find suitable UK rapid chargers and plan tow-friendly routes. You can contact us at contact@evtow.uk.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and a securely hashed password, used to sign you in and to send service emails (registration confirmation, trial and account notices).
• Outfit information — the EV and caravan details you enter (make, model, year, battery capacity, weights and dimensions) so we can calculate realistic towing range and compatible chargers.
• Location — with your permission, your device location is used to find nearby chargers and plan routes. You choose "always", "only while the app is open" or "never", and can change your mind at any time in your device settings. Location is processed on your device; we do not build a history of where you have been.
• Community contributions — sites, photos, confirmations and reports you submit, shown to other members.
• Saved content — saved routes and favourite chargers linked to your account.
• Technical logs — error reports and email delivery status, used to keep the service reliable.

How we use it

• To provide the charger finder, route planner and towing range calculations.
• To remember your vehicles, caravans and saved routes between visits.
• To send essential account emails. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To moderate community content and keep site information accurate.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by our hosting platform (Lovable Cloud, built on Supabase) with row-level security so members can only read their own records. Payment processing, where applicable, is handled by Paddle; we never see or store your card details.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. Email contact@evtow.uk and we will action it within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies & storage

We use only essential browser storage: your sign-in session, theme preference, location permission choice and onboarding state. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
